The History of Caterham United Reformed Church

In 2019 Ray Howgego published a 53-page illustrated book covering the history of Caterham Congregationalism from 1863 to 1923, together with notes on other local Congregational churches, most of which have since disappeared. Also included is an Appendix giving details of the partial destruction of the church in 1944.

The book was issued free of charge to all registered church member families and was deposited in local and national libraries. A few copies are still available from the author, or from the East Surrey Museum, price £3. An inspection copy is available in the display cabinet in the church vestibule.

Because of the relative scarcity of the book it is made available here for free download, the only difference being that, to reduce the file size. all illustrations have been removed.
